Week 3: Inspiring people to finish

This week, I found out something ridiculous — People actually read this shit!

Well, not a lot of people — only 7 so far, but that’s more than I had hoped. To be honest, when I started writing these weekly articles, I didn’t expect them to be read at all.

During the week, a friend called me and said he’d seen the articles and was inspired by them to complete a course that he had started a while back. He was also going to write publicly about it.

I’m not going to lie, it felt good to know that someone read these round-ups and let them inspire him. To everyone out there reading this, get inspired. This is a great time to pick-up that course you started six months ago. Write a public directory of everything you’ve read. It’ll help you achieve some consistency.

Now to the things I’ve learnt from the CXL Growth Marketing Nanodegree:

First off, this nanodegree has to be the most tasking thing I’ve learnt since I left school. The course contains 111hrs 41 mins of video time (No, not Coursera-style video time…actual video time).

For any working person, myself especially, that’s a lot of video time to consume within 3 months.

However, I find that I have a number of distractions, Twitter being the prevalent one. If I channelled my Twitter hours into taking the course, I could realistically finish it in 3 weeks. But we all know that’s not going to happen.
