This is a detailed review/recount of my first week’s learnings in the CXL institute
Getting the CXL Scholarship came as a bit of a shock to me. It wasn’t that I expected not to get in after sending an application. It was more that I didn’t expect my application to be accepted so soon.
I had applied thinking that it would take 2–3 weeks for the team to sort through applications. So, when I got a response 3 days after I applied, I was pleasantly surprised for two reasons:
- First; I was able to tell my story in a way that resonated with the faculty,
- Second; that I would finally get the chance to learn growth marketing in a structured environment.
However, I also had a slight regret. Getting the scholarship that early, meant that it came at an inconvenient time. This month has been a particularly long and busy one; adding another one to my table wasn’t part of the plan.
I also knew there was no going back. I had to get it done. Doing a course like this has been something I wanted for over a year. I wasn’t going to let go of this opportunity now.
The first week has had me eke out time from thin air to make sure I catch up with the course requirements. I’ve found myself watching videos in cabs, at graduation ceremonies, in the dead of the night, and in other remarkable situations that people would ordinarily not.
